Open Inspection Tips

Have a list organised of things that are important to you when buying a home, what features are a must? What questions do you need to ask the agent?

Bring identification – Although not always necessary, an agent may ask you for it, so be prepared!

When you get to the property take the time to have a chat with the Agent. Let them know briefly what you are looking for and ask the questions that you noted, so you don’t miss your opportunity later on.

Arrive on time, this is so you get the most out of the open inspection and you do have the time to think of other questions you can ask that may come to your attention.

Take notes, take as many as you can about the property and what you see. Assuming you have been through many opens already, these notes make it easier to compare properties and their features later on.

Make sure you check the condition of the home. Don’t let beautiful décor take your attention away from the house itself. Check the walls, floors and ceiling throughout the whole home.

If you are interested, be sure to leave your details with the agent at the inspection so they can follow up a few days later to see where you are at.

Don’t want to leave your details? Be sure to take a card of the agent.
