As the area continues to grow, the Melton Council has planned for a six-court indoor stadium in Cobblebank. The stadium will include a show court and five additional courts, to try and support the demand for these facilities.

Initially, in December last year the council planned for a five-court stadium at a cost of $993,528, but agreed to add an additional court in August, increasing the costs by $349,762.

The Melton Basketball Association currently has 1500 registrations, and the Aussie Hoops program is ‘booked through the roof’, with the stadium expecting to assist in the growth of basketball across Melton.

The new stadium will be built on the corner of Bridge and Ferris roads.
