Melton Council and CatholicCare launched a program in mid-September, which provides financial or material support for families in need.

The CatholicCare organisation provide emergency relief from multiple offices across Victoria, but have struggled to give these services to the local Melton community, as they didn’t have an office situated in the area.

The chief executive of the organisation said that they are excited to work alongside the Melton City Council, as they are “aware that the City of Melton is experiencing rapid growth” and will need extra support.

The Mayor, Bob Turner is incredibly happy to finally be providing this service, as the council has been advocating about the issue for some time. Turner is also willing to provide CatholicCare with an office space at the Melton Civic Centre.
